A Fun-Filled Weekend!

Jace
On Saturday morning, grandma came to our house to help mama get some projects done. Daddy was at work and told us the fire station was having an open house and that we should come visit him. Grandma and I colored some pictures and played with play dough while mama did some cleaning and laundry. When I woke up from my nap, we headed to see daddy at the fire station. There were lots of kids there and a bunch of things for us to do. I went through an obstacle course and even got to spray a fire hose at the end! I had fun doing a bucket brigade with some other kids, we all got a little wet though. Then they had an actual fire there and we watched them put it out. I sat in the front row with grandma and it got really hot, I was ready to leave before they even got the fire out. We had dinner with daddy before heading home to go to bed. Sunday morning, daddy came home and headed for a deer hunt with Manny. Grandma, Bella and I played on the floor and when Bella was napping, we put a big puzzle together. We had a quick lunch before heading to Roseburg for Shea's birthday party. She had a Frozen birthday party, and I got to build a snowman out of marshmallows. I was a good boy, so I got a piece of cake and some ice cream too. I sang happy birthday to Shea, and watched her open her presents then went outside to play. We ate some pizza with grandma and papa before heading home. Mama and I listened to kids music and sang all the way home.

Bella
I'm getting good at rolling over, and I still love my baths. It was a little hot at the fire station but I had fun too. I liked watching Jace and I got a lot of attention too. I was good for mama and slept while she ran errands and all the way home. I slept on the way to Roseburg too. I enjoyed watching all of the kids play with balloons at the party, and papa held me most of the time. I got hungry before it was time to leave and cried a little, but after my tummy was full,  I was a happy camper!

Let's roll!

Jace
We spent a few days at home, and the weather got real warm again. Mama and I had snack time in my army fort while Bella napped. Then when she got up, we went for a wagon ride to get the mail. Saturday evening, grandma headed home from her hiking trip a little early, so she stayed at our house over night. Bella and I still had runny noses, so grandma stayed with us while daddy and mama went to church. Grandma and I had races out the driveway, and did some bicycle exercises on the floor. She went home while I was napping. Monday morning, Bella had a Dr appointment and we all went along. I watched everything that the Dr did, and he even let me help a little. I got the flu vaccine up my nose, but Bella had to get shots in her leg. Daddy helped some friends move on Tuesday, but we stayed home and did some chores. The Dr said we could start giving Bella some baby cereal, so I got to feed it to her. She made a pretty big mess, she mostly just spit it back out. On Wednesday, mama went for a bike ride, did some shopping and had lunch without us. We stayed home with daddy, and we played outside, went for a wagon ride and read some books. Daddy and mama had to work on Thursday, so Bella and I spent the day with all of our cousins at grandma's house. Mama made more muffins and we took them to share for a tea party. We played outside most of the day because it has been really hot still.

Bella

Having a runny nose again isn't fun, but I have been a trooper. I am still very happy most of the time. I have lots of tickle spots and laugh out loud when anyone tickles me. I got lots of snuggles from grandma while she was here. I have only been in the bumbo seat for a couple of weeks and I am almost strong enough to pop myself out, so mama has to put the tray on so I stay in there. I really enjoyed my first wagon ride, I smiled the whole time. Monday morning I was wide awake to see Dr Marshack, I gave him lots of smiles and didn't mind him looking in my ears, nose and mouth. I weighed in at 15lbs and 4 oz this check up. I did get some shots at the end, but I only cried for a short time. Mama decided that I needed to start sleeping in my crib at night because I am getting too big for my rock and play sleeper. I had a rough few nights, but I have learned to soothe myself by sucking my thumb. I am back to sleeping 10 hours at night again. I light up every time I see Jace and love it when he plays peek a boo with me. I didn't really like my cereal, but maybe in a few weeks I can try again. Wyatt and Lane gave me lots of attention while I was at grandma and papa's house, and I gave them lots of giggles and smiles. I rolled over for the first time on Thursday from front to back, goodbye tummy time!

It's Fall Y'all

Jace
The Rogers harvested their pear tree so we went over to their house so mama and miss Tami could can and freeze them. Maren and I played in the sandbox and rode bikes for a while, then Allan took us on a wagon ride that was a fun adventure. We picked vegetables from the garden and collected eggs from their chickens. When mama worked, we spent the day with all of our cousins and grandma and papa. Papa got a huge elk, I got to see the antlers, they were pretty cool. Good job papa! We spent a few days at home and daddy had a few days off. Daddy built me a really cool army fort, I had a lot of fun playing in it. Mama also got out my pedal tractor, and that was a fun new toy to play on.  I came down with a cold, but that didn't slow me down. We had the Dunkin family over for dinner, I had fun chasing Ollie around the house and riding my car with Amelia. I played some baseball with Casen. The babysitter from the gym is leaving for college, so mama made oatmeal banana muffins for her going away party. Mama had to work late, so we were late to the party, but Amber still liked the muffins and painting I made for her. Mama and Bella came down with my cold, so we all spent a couple days in our pjs. It finally rained for a couple of days and really cooled off to remind us that it is fall. I helped mama make some chocolate chip pumpkin muffins, then we had a tea party!

Bella
As usual, I loved all of the attention from all of my cousins at grandma's. I love sitting up in my bumbo seat like a big girl. I sit on the counter and watch mama cook and Jace eat. I got lots of snuggles from my daddy while he was home with us. Corrie needed a baby fix while she was here, so she held me the whole time! I transitioned to eating every 4 hours and sleeping up to 10 hours at night. I like to sleep in in the mornings and take a cat nap in the late morning, but my big nap is in the afternoon of about 3 hours. I continue to love bath time, and prefer to go to bed between 7 and 8. I had my first pretend tea party with mama and Jace today, they had real tea and muffins but I had my own cup:)

Road Trippin'

Jace
On Thursday morning, I helped mama pack bags to head to The Dalles for a few days. I was so excited to go see bampa and lala! We dropped Ali off at the Rogers' house because we didn't have room for her in the jeep. We made it about half way there and stopped for a bit, everyone ate and went to the bathroom and we were back on the road. We made it the rest of the way before Bella needed to eat again. We were good travelers this trip. When we got to bampa and lala's I didn't want to go to bed, so I stalled as long as possible. Friday was daddy and mama's anniversary, so they went and relaxed by a lake somewhere and Bella and I stayed with bampa and lala. My cousin grace was there too. Lala, Bella and I went for a walk and then bampa took me to the river to play for a couple of hours after nap. I had fun jumping in the water and belly flopping into the water too. Daddy and mama went out to dinner too, so lala did bath time and bedtime with us. Daddy and mama were there the next morning when I woke up. Mama and lala took me to a really fun park after breakfast that had a rock climbing wall and other fun things to play on. We played in the yard in the afternoon with grace and her friends Lily and Emmy. I was a little out numbered so I let the girls do what they wanted. Bampa barbequed tri tip and dinner was yummy. I went to bed early because we had to leave really early in the morning. Mama woke me up on Sunday morning and put me in the jeep in my pjs. Lala went with us and sat in the back by me and read me stories and visited with me. We got to Salem in time for me to get my race packet and get dressed in my turn outs for my 1k race that Grace and I ran in. I ran the whole race and was excited to jump in the bounce house when we were finished. Auntie Leanne ran a 10k and we played there until she was done. Next we drive to a fun place called the enchanted forest. There were castles and lots of nursery rhyme themed things for grace and I to climb in and on. We even went on some rides like bumper boats, a Ferris wheel, a train and a frog hopper. The train was my favorite, I went on it the times. We didn't get through the entire park but day and mama wanted to leave before I had a meltdown. So we said our goodbyes to auntie Leanne, Grace and lala before heading for home. It took me a while to fall asleep, but then we slept the whole way home.

Bella
I was such a good traveler on our road trip to bampa and lala's house and I was such a happy girl while I was there. I gave them lots of smiles and they gave me lots of snuggles. Auntie Leanne and lala gave me a bath and then rocked me until bedtime. I went to the park on Saturday too, lala pushed me in the stroller. I watched a Loyola football with day and bampa, I liked all of the colors on tv! When I woke up from my nap, all of the girls fought over who was going to hold me and touch me. I thought they were funny and enjoyed all of the attention even when they pet me like an animal. The next morning I slept until we got to the race, then I woke up and lala pushed me in the stroller and mama got me out to watch Jace jump in the bounce house. I got a little cranky at enchanted forest so lala held me while we walked around. I had fun watching Jace go on the frog hopper ride. I slept the whole way home.

Busy busy!

Jace
It has been pretty busy as our summer is coming to an end. Daddy and mama took the top of the jeep off and it is so much fun riding and looking at the sky. Papa and grandma came down one day to can tomatoes with mama, and finish making applesauce. I helped by playing in the apple bucket and bringing some more apples to grandma and mama. Daddy mama Bella and I all went to  a bbq in Medford at one of daddy's co-workers house. They had a fun play house and a swing set. I didn't look out for the other kids swinging and ended up get kicked right in the head. Mama worked on a Friday and was on call all weekend so we spent a couple of nights at papa and grandma's house. I had fun playing with my cousins on Friday, we even had a tea party with real tea and I loved it! Saturday, aunt Lori took grandma and all of us kids up on the mountain where papa and uncle Nick were hunting. I played in the dirt and played with a sling shot that uncle Nick made. Daddy came up to camp too and grandma, Bella and I rode back to grandma's with him. We got home before mama got off of work, and she got home in time to put me to bed. I didn't want to go to sleep that night because I knew mama and grandma were husking and doing corn to put in the freezer for the winter. Finally after a couple of extra songs, I went to sleep. We went grocery shopping after mama got off work on Sunday, and headed home on Monday morning. Mama went to the potty as soon as we got home and didn't have any toilet paper, so I went to my bathroom and walked with the end of the roll all the way through the house and to her in the bathroom. She said I was a big helper, but she had a lot of paper to clean up! We spent the next couple days at home catching up on house chores. Mama's friend Amber came to visit us on Tuesday and she brought me a really cool fish game that I love to play.  We went hiking with her on Wednesday morning, Mama carried me on the way up and Amber carried Bella. I walked the last bit cuz mama was getting tired. I had fun on the top of table rock but had a bit of a melt down on the way back. I put on quite the show for miss Amber.

Bella
Mama bundled me to take me anywhere in the jeep while the top was off, but she was worrying way to much because it was relaxing and put me right to sleep. I enjoyed all of the attention at grandma's from my cousins. I also got lots of snuggles from grandma by spending the weekend there. Mama says I'm a bit spoiled, but I love the constant attention. I am super smiley and happy most of the time, just don't skip my nap time or I will let you know by a very ear piercing cry! My big brother continues to try to teach me to roll over but I still can't do it. Mama's friend Amber brought me a new toy that I love watching move and play songs. She carried me up the table rock trail and I enjoyed watching the trees and sky. We got a little warm but I was good.
