A Harvest of Memories!

 Jace

Mama heard about a farm in Talent that we could go to, so she bought us tickets to go with our friends on a sunny afternoon. They had a corn maze, cow train and some farm animals we could see. We gobbled at the turkeys and they gobbled back, it was so silly. We had a picnic lunch that our mama's packed and then Demian and I played tag while the girls collected acorns. A couple of days later, daddy left to go deer hunting. We helped mama with a big project on our living room wall. First we cut the boards all different lengths, then arranged them on the patio to see how we wanted them on the wall. Papa and grandma came down the next day to help. Grandma played in the treehouse with us while papa and mama hung the boards on the wall. The next day, Bella and I finished the wall off with making and hanging shelves on the wall. Daddy got a deer and he and mama cut up the meat and canned it. Lala came to visit for a few days and we had fun with her. We went to Coach Matt and Leslee's wedding and had a great time playing outside and dancing! We have been reading after school every afternoon in the treehouse and my reading level went up an entire grade level. My parents and teacher are so proud of me. I think our treehouse is magic:) We went for hunt behind the house, mama for a deer and daddy for a bear. No luck, but we all made it to the top of the ridge, it was a big climb. We also met the Hill's at the park to go fishing in the river. Lucas was the only one that caught a fish, but it was lots of fun!

Bella

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch and it was a beautiful farm. We almost got lost in the corn maze, but the cow train was my favorite. Aven and I had fun finding acorns and smashing them open. We were big helpers for mama while daddy was gone and my reading is getting lots better too. When Papa and grandma came down, we watched a movie on a projector on the back patio, then again the next weekend with the Hill's and the Wieking's. We wrote thank you letters to the firefighters at school and we got to deliver them to the fire stations when daddy got home. We are still getting lots of veggies from the garden and I helped mama dry a bunch of herbs for cooking. Our adventure hunt behind the house was fun and daddy couldn't believe I made it all the way to the top without a complaint. Gymnastics is still going great, but I want to continue going just once a week instead of 2. I played babies with lala and even got her to go on the zip line with me. I went along to wrestling when mama worked late and had fun jumping on the trampoline with some boys there. I loved going to Coach Matt's wedding too!

A Smokey Start to School Covid-Style!

 Jace and Bella

We had a few fun days at Mr Kurt's pool swimming and enjoying the last few days of summer vacation. We are doing a slow start to school, only one day the first week and two the second week then all four days. I'm just glad we get to go, our cousins and other friends have to do all online school. The first day of school,I only had 3 kids in class and then only 13 when my whole class was there. We both have buddies in our class again and a couple of new friends that we are getting to know. A bunch of fires started in California and Oregon making it super smoky. Our cousins from Pennsylvania came to go hunting with papa, but they shut down all hunting due to the fires. We went to Roseburg to visit them and then they came down for pizza and we played corn hole and showed them our treehouse. School got cancelled due to smoke the second week and we spent Tuesday with Miss Audra while daddy and mama worked. A terrifying fire went through Ashland, Talent and some of Medford. Daddy was on shift and worked all night and the entire next day trying to put out the fires and save as many homes as they could. His phone died, so we didn't have any contact with him. Mama was a bit worried and wanted to do something for all the guys out there working so hard. So we went to Miss Audra's again while mama went to the fire station and helped make 300 sandwiches and packed lunches for the firefighters.  Another fire started in Medford right by the station and everyone in the area was evacuating, so it took mama a really long time to get home. She met us at gymnastics and then daddy came home super late and then had to go back for another 24 hours the next day. We were glad to know he was safe, but so sad that so many people lost their homes. We had a few play dates, with the Hill's at their gym and with the Tocher's at our house. Mama made us a new sweatshirt and fall dress with matching masks for school.
