A Slice of Summer!

 Jace

We went to Uncle's house for a fourth of July fish fry, jalapeno poppers and french fries. We swam in their pool and played in the sand. We also put so many rubber bands around a watermelon to make it break that we lost count! We spent several days down at the creek catching bugs and I even caught a crawdad. We went to Bampa and Lala's for a visit. Daddy, Bampa and I went to the same dunes on the Columbia River for an adventure and arrowhead hunt. I found one arrowhead all by myself and Bampa found 2. It was a great adventure. The next day, Lala, mama, Bella and I drove up to Mt Hood and met Grace and Auntie Leanne to go to a fun sports park. We rode tube slides, did rock climbing, trampoline tricks and the Alpine Slides. The Alpine slides were my favorite and I loved going super fast without using my brakes at all. We headed home the next day. We swam at the Tocher's one day and I rode my motorcycle too.

Bella

I started a habit of pulling my eyelashes when I go to bed and I'm not tired. Daddy and mama noticed that all of my eyelashes were gone. I tried to stop, but I couldn't, so we decided to put socks on my hands at bedtime. We watched daddy and mama drill the holes for our driveway gate and also helped them cement the post in place. I had a great time swimming and playing with my cousins on the 4th of July. I jumped on the trampoline and played in the sand too. I was excited for our trip to The Dalles. While the guys went on an adventure, Lala, mama and I walked up to the park and played all morning. I had a lot of fun at Mt Hood too. I even climbed higher on the rock climbing wall than Jace. I rode with mama on the Alpine slides and she let me control the brakes. I didn't use them one time and she was screaming and laughing so hard. I didn't want the day to end! I'm getting so brave in the Tocher's pool jumping off the slide and off of the side. 

Surprise Adventure in the Woods!

We went to the gym on Monday morning and then mama was acting kind of suspicious about what we were going to do for the day. She said we might do something fun with our best buddies, but we did see them at the gym. Also, daddy was working on our utility trailer that was loaded with lots of stuff and that is when miss Audra pulled in and we realized we were going on our annual surprise Adventure! We were so excited on the way and as we got closer to Lake of the Woods (one of our favorite camping places), we guessed it destination. We didn't camp, instead we stayed in a cute little cabin. We got there a little early for checking into the cabin, so we got some toys and a picnic lunch and headed for the beach! We stayed 2 nights and 3 days and we had a great time. We fished, we went on our kayaks, we played horse shoes, ladder golf, charades and went on some nature walks too. After breakfast, the first morning, we went for a walk by the lake. Floating in the water by a log, I (Jace) found a bottle with a map in it. We thought it might be a treasure map, so we went back to the cabin to get a map of the lake and headed for the X on the treasure map. We had to go deep in some bushes, but sure enough, we found a treasure box that was full of treasure, shark teeth and arrow heads. It was so exciting, and we split all the treasure between the 5 of us kids. It was more exciting than we ever could have imagined our adventure at the lake.
